THE CATHOLIC WORKER HOUSE: THE UPTOWN TRILOGY, PART II
Written on commission for Scrap Mettle SOUL, this script adapts the true story of Uptown Chicago’s Catholic Worker House as told by its residents. Inspired by Dorothy Day in the 1930s, Chicago’s Catholic Worker House seeks to give shelter and hope to those on the margins of society through a non-hierarchical mission of social change not affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church. To create this comic script, Jacob worked with director Stefan Brün and composer Steven Rasberry and a diverse ensemble of non-professional actors from Uptown to create this unique performance.
